L.A. Noire = Finished

I finished L.A. Noire tonight.
I don't think I could be more impressed if I tried.
Not quite sure what to make of the ending.
I was a bit sad with the way it turned out, but at the same time, i'm still quite caught up with it.
Congratulations to Rockstar, Team Bondi and every single person, who helped make the game.
You've got an absolute multiple award winning, Game of the Year for sure on your hands.

11 DAYS LATE.
Grrrrrrrr, no wonder I was so miserable.

30 Day Book Challenge: Day 8 - Most Overrated Book

Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a super fan, and I'm not a hater.
I like the books a normal ammount.
Twilight & Eclipse were my favourites.
New Moon was Ok, just a bit too slow and lacking something sometimes.
Breaking Dawn... I can't say I liked much at all.
It was just way too OTT, way too much silliness, not sweet and "natural" as it were, like the first 3.
It all just felt a bit much.
Way overrated, if you ask me.

And suddenly I become a part of your past
I'm becoming the part that don't last
I'm losing you and it's effortless

England vs Sri Lanka Test 1.

How the hell England managed to win this first match against Sri Lanka, I have NO idea.
Fantastic match & win though.
Well done boys.
& Well Done Trott for his double 100, and Man of the Match.

Oh, How I LOVE Twitter.

30 Day Book Challenge: Day 7 - Your Most Underated Book

Innocence by Kathleen Tessaro
About 3 years ago, I was bored and I told Mum that I wanted to just go to WHSmith and pick a completely random book, that I knew NOTHING about.
I'll just go to the store, read the blurbs and see which one catches my attention the most.
This was the book I chose.
I really, really enjoyed it.
It was well written, and just really enjoyable to read.
Plus, because it wasn't in the charts or massively advertised
I assume it's not hugely well known.
Hence why this is my underated/unknown book.

Slowly getting to the end of L.A. Noire...
I'm on Arson now, 2nd mission out of 5.
But, apparently the game is 20 hours long. (Hooray)
And there's 2 (so far) DLCs been revealed.
The Naked City for Vice & Nicholson Electroplating for Arson.
Looking forward to both of these in June/July.
Phwoooooar this Playoff Final between Reading & Swansea is an absolute corker!!
Swansea 3-0 Reading
Then...
Swansea 3-1 Reading
THEN...
Swansea 3-2 Reading.

COME ON READING!!!

Sunday 29 May 2011

I could seriously eat some Chinese now... or Pizza... yum.
Have you ever been alone in a crowded room?

30 Day Book Challenge: Day 6 - A Book That Makes You Sad

The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards.
Such a trying and sad story.
It made me feel very guilty reading it.

Saturday 28 May 2011

Market Harborough Blinds/Curtains are following me on Twitter.
Wow... just wow...

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 Trailer 1

I saw this today in the cinema when we went to see Pirates 4.
I got goosebumps.
I was SO excited.
Cannot wait until it's finally out, i'm going to see it like, 10 times I swear :)

Champions League Final (28th May 2011)

Watching the Champions League Final at Wembley now.
It's Manchester United vs Barcelona.
I don't like Man Utd at all... I'm not a big fan of Barca either...
But, Man Utd are English.
So....
(yuck)

COME ON MAN UTD.

(shudder)

I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (4) today.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect.
I love the first 3 films, but this one, I was a bit unsure of.
It was brilliant though, I really enjoyed it.
It felt a bit strange without Elizabeth Swan (Keira Knightley) and William Turner (Orlando Bloom)
but, Johnny Depp was fantastic as usual as Captain Jack Sparrow, Penelope Cruz was actually really good as Angelica and Geoffery Rush & Ian McShane were great of course as Captain Barbosa and Blackbeard!

There were Mermaids in this film, which I really enjoyed.
They were fantastically made.
I'm not sure if there will be a 5th movie, in some ways I hope there is, and in others I hope there's not.
We'll have to wait and see.

30 Day Book Challenge: Day 5 - A Book That Makes You Happy

One Day by David Nicholls
I'm reading this at the moment... I haven't even finished it yet, but it makes me SO happy.
It's beautifully written, there are serious points, and sad points, but I kind of feel like I'm bouncing off of the pages... it's so light-hearted.
I can't help but sit giggling or smirking to myself with some of the one liners that appear and some of the witty banter between Dex & Em.
It's all just so lovely.

30 Day Book Challenge: Day 4 - Day 04 - Your Favorite Book of One of Your Favourite Series

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
I adore this book, it made me laugh, cry, feel sympathy, fear, love and a bit of hate.
So many emotions reared in ONE book can only equate to brilliance.
I love each of the books individually, but this one always stands out to me.
It was powerful stuff.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Feeling so fed up today...

Headache, tummy ache and leg ache.
Dad never seems to stop talking, and he's SO loud... but maybe that's because i've got a headache...
so everything feels amplified.
I've got to cook tonight, and I don't want to.
I want to read my book, but my head hurts and I won't be able to concentrate...
I feel nervous and sad.
And I'm late on my period... again... and it's such a crap feeling.
Just waiting to feel even more miserable than normal for a whole week. Great.

Rant Over... for now.

I can't wait for One Day to be released.
August 26th 2011.
It looks so beautiful.
The book is amazing so far, there's a twist, the characters are amazing.
Emma is meant to be working class and a bit... scruffy... yet they've cast Anne Hathaway... who is beautiful... of course...
Not quite sure about that.
But, I still think she's a good choice.

30 Day Book Challenge: Day 3 - A Book From One of Your Favourite Series

Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkein
They're just fantastically written.
The films are brilliant, the books are better :)
Excellent.

The pictures from this site,
(roflrazzi.com)
Are seriously funny.
I was drinking my tea when I saw this one...
actually dribbled it a bit.

Must admit... this really made me laugh.

Productive morning

I've showered, hoovered, dusted, had a cup of tea & some weetabix for breakfast, managed, somehow, to get completely ready to go out 2 hours early (how I did that I do not know) and now I'm starting to play Fallout 3 for a bit, all before 10:00am!!
This is practically unheard of...
But, stranger things have happened :)

Also, wearing my new clothes,
the black combat trousers, I blogged the other day.
AND, a new blue dress.
I may be bad, but i'm perfectly good at it

30 Day Book Challenge: Day 2 - A Book You've Read More Than Three Times

Bridget Jones' Diary by Helen Fielding.
It's one of my favourite films, but the book is wonderfully funny and really quite sweet.
Lovely quotes, and I love my own version of Bridget, Mark and Daniel.
And her parents of course... they're brilliant.

The Pact

Emily and I have made a pact to NEVER read "Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus" by John Gray.
Mainly because knowing us and how crazy we went in the phase of belieivng Horoscopes were real and practcally living by them, we'd turn this book into our Bible.
Not cool.

We'll see how long we manage for.
Start date Tuesday 24th May 2011.

Grrrr!

I love my brother, really I do.
I love him an awful lot and always will...
but, sometimes, he's such a little bugger.
I swear over the last few months, it's like he's been on a constant period.
He's got a problem with all of us, Mum, Dad and I, at all times.
He does NOTHING, around the house... he rarely makes a cup of tea, and definitely doesn't do housework, which I was made to do at the age of 10.
He's 14.
I love him, but seriously boy, grow up a bit and stop being so damn grumpy.
"Dexter, I love you so much. So, so much, and I probably always will." Her lips touched his cheek.
"I just don't like you anymore. I'm sorry."
One Day

"There’s a place I go
When I’m alone
Do anything I want
Be anyone I wanna be
But it is us I see
And I cannot believe I’m fallin
That’s where I’m goin
Where are you goin
Hold it close won’t let this go
Dream catch me when I fall"
Every time I close my eyes
It’s you

Which One.......?

These are all from ASDA.
I definitely want the trousers, I need some.
I really like the brown top and the blue stripe dress... the navy gypsy top is ok but not probably my favourite...
Hmmm, I really like the bird top though....
Ohhhh, choices, choices.
Can't afford them all... only £20s worth.
P.s. I have those Leopard print shoes on the last picture (of the trousers)
Teehee.

Money, Money, Money....

Can't wait for my money to come through tonight.
I need to pay Mark back £10.
I need £15 in change for buses.
I need to give Sam, £5 for petrol money.
Probably £5 for the meal tomorrow.
I'm going to buy a corkboard, which shall be about £6 if that.
And then I'm going to get a new top and some combat trousers for £20.
Might get The King's Speech at some point too.
I LOVE that film, saw it at the cinema twice and would love to watch it again on my TV.
Watching a film called "Enid", as the name suggests, it's about Enid Blyton.

Edwardian child Enid Blyton begins to tell stories to her brothers as an escape from their parents' rows before the father deserts the family. Whilst training as a teacher after the Great War she sends her stories to publishers, one of whom, Hugh Pollock, takes her on and also marries her.

They have two daughters but Enid is a terrible mother, letting a nanny rear them whilst she, ironically, bestows treats on anonymous children who worship her for her stories. She is completely self-absorbed,driving Hugh to drink and then to another woman.

Enid uses the children as emotional blackmail to get a divorce on her terms before marrying Kenneth Waters, a weak man similar to her father. After World War Two she is as popular as ever, despite accusations of using a syndicate to pen her books and will carry on,adored by children who do not know her true nature, for another twenty years and her death in 1968.
