My 21st Birthday (Thursday 10th November 2011)

Today has been the most amazing, fantastic, incredible, wonderful, brilliant, excellent, heart warming Birthday that i've EVER had in all of my 21 years.
And i've had some pretty damn good Birthday's.

Before I start explaining what I've had/done etc today,
I'd like to thank my beautiful Mum, my amazing Dad and my wonderful little Brother.
Today wouldn't have been half as fantastic if it wasn't for you incredible people.
You've made today what it was = Perfect.

Also, a massive thank you to everyone who messaged, emailed, text, rang, visited, bought me cards/presents etc.
You have made today even better than any birthday that i've ever had.
So thank you, so, so much.
I feel very overwhelmed, but in the very best of ways.

Right, from the top : )
I'm writing all of this out, because I want to remember EVERY SINGLE THING, that happened on my 21st Birthday.
And what better way to do so, than to blog it.

My Mum and Dad came into my bedroom and woke me up at 7:45am, singing and very excited for my Birthday :) It was lovely to see.
Mum, Dad, Mark and I all went downstairs for a cup of tea and to open my cards and presents.

I got a lot of lovely cards from both Family and Friends.
Once i'd finished opening all of my cards, I started opening my presents, this is what I got:
  • A beautiful silver charm bracelet, with a "21" charm on it from Mum, Dad & Mark.
  • A "Me to You" 21st Birthday Bear also from Mum, Dad & Mark.
  • A box of Terry's all gold chocolates from Mum, Dad & Mark.
  • A Badge from my brother, Mark.
  • £100 from Mum, Dad & Mark.
  • £122.21 from Family members and friends.
  • A necklace from my Auntie Lynda, Uncle Leigh & Leanne & James.
  • A bracelet from Auntie Lynda, Uncle Leigh, Leanne & James.
  • A box of Maltesers from Auntie Lynda, Uncle Leigh, Leanne & James.
  • And, my Grandad had gone to the bakery and bought me a proper bakery Birthday cake, specially iced and decorated, just for me.
I was absolutely bowled over by all of the cards, money and gifts, couldn't ask for better presents.

After opening everything, I sorted things out, read and replied to my Twitter messages and texts, read my Facebook posts and then started to get ready.
Mum and Dad told me that they'd planned a surprise meal at the Oadby Owl for my Birthday.
So once everyone was dressed and ready, we took some photos and then headed off to the restaurant.

Once we arrived, we ordered the food and got the drinks, sat down and chatted until the food was served.
Dad and Mark had a big Mixed Grill each because it's their favourite.
Mum and I had a Surf n' turf n' cluck each because that's our favourite.
(You get a steak, chicken breast and a pile of scampi with chips and peas)
I also had a Mixed Berry Kopparberg, for the occasion.

After eating the Main course, we had our desserts.
Dad and Mark had a Knickerbocker Glory each.
Mum had a slice of warm Chocolate Fudge Cake with Ice Cream and
I had a Warm Chocolate Brownie with Ice Cream.
It was absolutely delicious.

After the meal, we headed down the road to ASDA, in Oadby.
I picked up CoD: MW3 and paid for it at the counter, VERY happy to have got it.

I then looked at the other DVDs, Games and Clothes, before putting on 2 lucky dips on the lottery.
Hoping for a bit of Birthday luck :)

Mark and I then wandered around the store, only to come back to find Mum with a beautiful bouquet of Roses, Gyp and Lilies in her hand, that her and Dad had bought for me.
They were so beautiful.

After ASDA, we went to the bank, so that I could put my Birthday money in my account.
Once I'd done that, I got back into the car, to then be told by Mum and Dad that we were going to my Nanna and Grandad's house to see them for a while, which was a lovely surprise.

We chatted, drank tea and had a laugh with my Grandparents for an hour or so and it was extra lovely to be able to see them on my Birthday.

After leaving my Nanna and Grandad's house, we came home to our house and sat down for a bit.
We chatted about the day, watched Only Fools and Horses and had a giggle at that.
I thanked everybody individually for my Twitter and Facebook messages and then there was a knock at the door.
I went to see who it was and my little 4 year old cousin Maddie started singing "Happy Birthday" to me.
It was my Uncle Roger, Auntie Toni and Cousin Maddie, come to drop my card round and have a coffee.
They gave me £15, which was lovely of them.

After they'd left, Mum and Dad said it was time to sing "Happy Birthday" to me themselves, so they lit the candles on my beautiful cake and brought it into the lounge.
We all stood around the table and they sang to me, then I blew the candles out and cut us all a slice of the cake, which was absolutely delicious.
Jam, sponge and buttercream with a non sickly royal icing = YUM.

After that, I started playing CoD:MW3 on campain for a little bit.
Got about an hour into it, when there was another knock at the door.

But, I knew who it was :)
It was my best friend Sam.
He came in for a bit and had a slice of cake, then we chatted and played CoD.
His Family had bought me a card and put £5 in it, which was lovely,
and Sam had bought me Battlefield 3 for the Xbox, which I was not expecting at all.

After Sam had left, the night started to wind down a bit.
I felt very overwhelmed (in the best of ways), but decided to switch CoD off, chat to my Family, have a cold drink and chill for a minute.

And here I am now... just about to finish this blog... (possibly the longest blog i've ever written).

Thank you ALL again, for making my day so very, very special.
It's been by far, the BEST Birthday, I've EVER had.
